Tri-Clamp Sanitary Flow Control Valve

  • $568.24

PAZZINI 900 SERIES

Application:

Manual fine adjustment used in flow control, Shut-off or divert with two or multiple ports.

Features:

• Made in SS316L / wetted surfaces
• Few moving parts, contributing to high reliability and low maintenance.
• If it is used as a Shut-off valve Slow-closing or slow-opening minimizes the water hammer.
• Seat gasket replacement in Less Than 10 minutes without removing the valve from the line and no tools required.

Materials:

 • Product wetted steel parts: AISI 316L (internal Ra < 0.8 μm)
 • Other parts in stainless Steel: AISI 304
 • Plug gasket: EPDM
 • Other product wetted seals EPDM (standard)

Technical specifications:
 • Max working pressure: 145 psi (10 bar)
 • Min. working pressure: Full vacuum
 • Working temperature: Please see below information.

 Working Principle:

The valve is operated by means of a hand wheel permitting gradual adjustment of the plug. The plug can be fixed in the adjusted position with a lock screw.

Recommended Inlet:

The seat valves are designed to close against the flow.

Slow-closing or slow-opening minimizes the water hammer.

Flow Capacity:

The flow coefficient Cv is the volume (in US gallons) of water at 60 °F that will flow per minute through a valve with a pressure drop of 1 psi across the valve.

VALVE SIZE (at 100% open)
CV
1 1/2" 35
2" 70
3" 150

For other pressure drops than 1 psi the flow can be calculated with the following formula:

Q= Cv x √ ∆p

Where:

Q= Flow in GPM
Cv = Flow coefficient.
∆p = Pressure drop in psi over the valve.

Example:

 1 1/2" valve has a Cv= 35 GPM with a pressure drop of 1 psi.

For a pressure drop of 2 psi which is the flow?

Q= 35 X √2 = 49 GPM.

Note: The surfaces in contact with a seal determine what type to use. The surface can either be static or dynamic, in motion or without movement. Static seals are usually used when there is no relative motion between mating surfaces. Dynamic seals are the opposite. They are used when there is motion between surfaces or compression loads.  Seal under compression load in combination with high temperatures also affect the properties of elastomers.

Examples: Seat vales (Relief, Shutt-down, Divert and Regulating)

Seat Valves recommended temperatures:

Recommended temperature for short periods of time (15-20 min) EPDM:  260°F, VITON: 285°F
